多年生草本，高(10) 20-30厘米。根较粗。茎直立或斜升，纤细，粗约2毫米，上部分枝。叶片线状披针形，长2-3厘米，宽2-4毫米，顶端急尖，具小短尖头，基部渐狭，中脉明显。聚伞花序，花较少，无毛；花梗淡褐色，长5-15毫米；苞片披针形，干膜质，白色，脉上端带褐色；花萼钟形，长3-5毫米，宽4毫米，具5条脉，紫褐色，萼齿卵形，渐尖，边缘干膜质；花瓣蔷薇色，倒卵状楔形，顶端截形或微波状，长6-7毫米，宽约2毫米；雄蕊长约5毫米，花丝扁线形，无毛，花药长圆形；子房卵球形，无毛，长约2毫米，花柱线形，与雄蕊等长。蒴果卵球形；种子圆形，褐色，具钝的疣状凸起。花期7-8月，果期9月。

产河北小五台山、涞源县白石山和北京百花山。生于海拔2 000-3 000米的山坡灌丛草地及林缘。原模式标本(Limpricht 2988)采自河北小五台山，存于柏林，已毁于战火，现选刘瑛(Y. Liu) 11221（同模式产地标本）为新模式 (Neotype) 。

中国植物照片集1405号Schindler 75 (181)被定为G. acutif olia Fisch. var. chinensis Regel，实是本种。Barkoudah又以该号标本作为模式发表一新种 G. ellipticifolia。
《北京植物志》1984年修订版上曾记载 G. acutifolia, 但其特征符合本种，而不是 G. acutifolia Fisch.。《河北植物志》1：417. 1986.记载过 G. acutifolia Fisch. ex Spreng. var. chinensis Regel, 其描述特征像 G. acutifolia Fisch. ex Spreng., 但该种我国不产。
