本亚种与原亚种的区别在于子房具有柄腺体，幼枝通常有腺头刚毛；叶长6-9.5厘米，宽2.5-4厘米。

产云南西部和西北部。生于海拔2 900-3 900米的高山草原或岩坡上。缅甸东北部也有分布。模式标本采自缅甸东北部。
